I rescued this cute wee Majestic radio from the skip being filled by Ferrymead RPS. It is a 5 valve superhet in a tiny wooden cabinet. I have yet to work out how the dial was as it appears to be completely missing. 6A8GT, 6K7GT, 6Q7GT, 25L6GT, 25Z6GT with a 455k/c IF.

Cute radio indeed, but "the skip being filled by Ferrymead RPS" is by far the most horrific thing I have read in a while...

I found a couple of photos that might help - looks like it was a translucent dial with a wire behind it, backlit by a bulb to cast a shadow? Most of the pictures I found were just thumbnails from eBay and the main pics are gone. Seems this is quite a rare radio based on the limited number of photos out there Somebody hotrodded this one but the dial is clearly visible: This sort-of shows the wire that would cast the shadow on the dial: I hope that helps - I look forward to seeing what you do with it Steve

Indeed. They are completely out of control & it seems no one can do anything.
Thanks for the photos. They explain a lot. I couldn't work out what the odd shaped wooden piece was on the tuning condenser shaft. All revealed. Will be in touch about Ferrymead. John
