This just arrived today, and I confess to feeling daunted. A little extra is that there is livestock in the woodwork. It's a Cromwell, and the plate says type 6NA, which I don't recognise. Can anyone shed any light? Thanks! Lawrence --

Is it possible this set has had a cabinet "update" or "modernisation"? Chrs, D.

Hi Lawrence, it has a very similar chassis to the 5AV series 1 ( www.vintageradio.co.nz/model/cromwell/5av )... which dates the chassis to around 1933. The schematic will probably point you in the right direction. It also means this is most likely a frankenradio because the dial / escutcheon looks to me to be more like the '38-'39 era Cromwells But... is that a Galleon dial? Galleon is a very rare NZ set... I saw one once... but have no idea who made it, where they made it, or why. www.vintageradio.co.nz/model/galleon/unknown-galleonSo yep, its looking like a bitser... Steve

Thanks, Steve. Yes, that is a Galleon dial, and the knobs look similar to yours. So my next question is, can I safely burn the horrible infested box? L

Hi Lawrence... I suspect you could, but not everyone would agree At least save the escutcheon and the grill bars
