Hi everyone,
I am looking for a specific Bell Colt aerial coil, the one installed being o.c.
The one I am looking for is one moulded in black plastic with a moveable ferrite slug and fixed to the upper side of the chassis with one of those spring clips over a boss projecting down through a hole in the chassis. I have a spare from an earlier Colt wound on a fibre coil former but I would like the black plastic moulded one.If anyone has one they could spare I would be keen to hear from them,
Cheers, Trombone

Hi everyone,
Thank you for the replies to my enquiry about the plastic Bell Colt aerial coil.
I had installed the fibre former second hand one to replace the original plastic o.c. one but wasn't happy with how it tuned.Closer examination showed that perhaps the set had been dropped.(This is Christchurch after all.)One of the i.f. transformers , secured with a small Philips self tapping screw, had broken away and was being held in position really only by the wiring underneath. The ferrite slug within seemed remarkably "mobile",there being no beeswax to secure it.Once re-tweaked to the correct i.f. frequency the rest of the tuning came right.Note to self : Don't rush into print until all possibilities have been explored! But thank you all for your help.
Cheers Trombone
