The first product of Radio Ltd after its inception in October 1922 was a crystal set (The 'Everyman') ordered from the Canadian Independent Telephone Co. 300 were ordered along with a 500W DeForest transmitter which would become Aucklands first radio station, 1YA. I don't know if any Kiwi collectors have one - apparently they were too expensive and never sold very well. JWS had a photo of one in Golden Age of Rado p.69 but it could have been from anywhere since they were probably sold all over the world. This model was a very close copy of the DeForest Everyman Crystal Set although I don't know the tie-up between them. Interestingly while researching this manufacturer for www.vintageradio.co.nz I discovered there is one for sale on eBay - www.ebay.com/itm/312601776120 - looks to be in fantastic condition for nearly 100 years old. I'm working through writing the page for Radio Ltd at the moment ( www.vintageradio.co.nz/manufacturer/radio_1936 - its not currently complete - a work in progress) - if anyone has any interesting information that should be included please let me know. Cheers, Steve
