Hi, one of these kiwi classics followed me home a while back -I'm looking for a schematic. Anyone familiar with these beasties please? John😎

Hi John, I've been looking for the schematic for one of those for the last year and still haven't found one. Is yours the black fronted earlier version or the silver faced final variant?

It's a black faced one - the real basic model. I did turn it on (through a series lamp limiter) & no smoke or flames emerged. With the limiter switched bypass I selected phono & turned the gain full up. There was his & hum on both channels same overall level but different frequency response. The board is quite big & uncluttered so I might try desoldering various capacitors - take the same from each channel & compare readings on a capacitance meter. If the component looks good I'll give it an ESR & leakage test too. Although I do prefer to replace outright as I hope to use this on a regular basis. & aren't the VU meters sexy? Thank you for taking the time with this....... best....... John.

Yes they are a great looking amp and the meters are sexy as you say. I'm not using mine at the moment as it gives a powerful thump on switch-on or switch-off (I can't remember which).
