I'm looking for more info on the set below; particularly schematic and hardware. Columbus radio (RCNZ) 6-valve model 032M (note suffix not ‘N’) B.C. band only, 4 controls: volume, A.C. sw, Tone, Tuning As received valve line-up: miniature 6X4, 6AQ5, 6AV6, 6BA6, 6BE6, 6BA6 No physical reference to actual valve line-up so It’s possible those in place are not correct Serial No.: 14821, Pressed chassis, Phono jack at rear This set appears similar to Columbus Model 5 miniature-valve but with some differences; Additional 2nd stage R.F. amp (hence 6BA6 x 2) so 6-valve, not 5-valve 6X4 rectifier instead of 6X5 6AQ5 output

Hi Bob I don't have a schematic for that model in my archives, but I have noted from sets from that era that models with an N suffix sometimes have a mix of miniature and octal or all miniature valves, while M suffix sets seem to be always miniature. The 032 was, as I understand it, a circa 1952 miniature valve update of the model 32 from 1947. Yours is '51? My dates are only approximate based on sighted tags. I suspect the lineup you give is correct. From the same series the model 26N lineup matches although that's a 5 valve... (The 32 was the 6 valve broadcast band from that series). The schematic is probably similar though. www.vintageradio.co.nz/model/columbus/26nI'll add this one to the site if that's ok? Cheers, Steve

Thanks Steve. Add it to the site for sure. The one I aquired has open circuit speaker output primary & caps dripping wax everywhere.
