No, the power cord comes out of the chassis currently... but there are a lot of similarities. I think its probably safe to conclude this chassis (at least) is 'most likely' one from the Radio Ltd stable.
The Ultimate JCL uses chassis code 514 Courier chassis' for the same model would have been 145 The Hinemoa chassis is 154
Coincidence? Probably not. Rolls? Golden Knight? Both those chassis were typically copper painted... if they had a mixed code for Courier its likely they did the same for other brands too... maybe...

Very similar. Your chassis will be a bit longer to accommodate the 2A7 along the back line. Another odd feature of mine is the oscillator coil which is inside the IF can! I don't have a photo showing the front of the chassis but I have a suspicion that there is an extra central hole the same, which is unused. Points to the chassis' being used in several models perhaps.

The two chassis posted above do have a lot of similarities. I think Steve's chassis is a later incarnation of the JCL chassis. I can confirm that Philconut's speaker and mounting are original. My JCL is the same and others I have seen have the same Rola speaker and mount.

I've just finished clearing the 9L chassis ready for re-finishing & have revealed some quite shoddy work. Most of the wiring that passes thru the chassis is through small, unbushed holes, the coil & IF can fixings are crudely soldered in with some verdigris showing where flux has not been cleaned off properly and the holes for the can electros are extremely rough. On the other side of the coin, the screws holding the valve sockets in are all brass & all the coil & IF cans are copper plated on the inside.

I'd love to see a separate restore thread on that set John, it looks interesting, and I'm sure you'll put the original construction to shame. Your restorations are always pretty darned impressive.
I don't have any intention of restoring the Hinemoa at the present, I kind of like it as it is.
Cheers, Steve

Steve, I'll start a new thread. I had thought about doing that yesterday.
