My name is Bruno; I'm in my first year of high school and I have a passion for restoring and building Valve amplifiers.
Some of my past and ongoing projects include: A pair of Leak TL12 styled amps using 6V6G's and 5U4's [Russian Substitute]. Another one of my projects was restoring a JG "20" that involved gluing back the broken PCB, replacing capacitors, some wire round resistors and bending back the front panel. I've also built myself a clone of a Fender guitar practice amp in point to point style, the valve lineup involves a 6V6 in the amp, 6N2p [changed from 12ax7] for the phase inverter and a 6X5 as the rectifier.
This brings me to me to my Question:
Item: Old valve amps and trinkets that a high school student could tinker with.
Price: A 14 year old's pocket money plus what he has saved up. [$20-$80]
Here is some information about myself:
I am well aware of electrical safety and that High-Voltage is not something you mess around with.
I have been studying year 12/13 NCEA electronics at school as a Year 9 student.
There are people who educate me on this kind of thing.
When working on live amps I'm with my Father.
