Hi all Just wondering if anybody could tell me what model this is and if they have any information about it or schematics or anything like that. I just picked this up for free and wanted to find out a bit more about it, the only information I have is it's an Akrad stereophonic radiogram with the number 6209 written on the back. On the back it also says 60 watts, 230v ac but I'm not sure if that is of any help. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Looking at the NZVRS library, that actual model number doesn't stand out, its possibly from 1962? It could be this Chassis? you'd have to confirm by looking the tube lineup on your model.

Could it be an updated version of this: www.vintageradio.co.nz/model/pye/777 (The Pye Calypso) **edit: Fred: I believe it says Stereophonic based on photos I have of another example of this set - so its unlikely to be the CalypsoThe BSR UA16 record changer is a 1962 model, so the radiogram is going to be at least that unless its been changed - it certainly has that long sleek early-mid-60's look to it. I have photos of this model fitted with a Garrard Autoslim from about 1959 which seems wrong to me unless they were getting rid of old stock players - the BSR makes more sense in this set. Pye / Akrad chassis' had a metal tag normally that showed the model code - this would likely be on the back of the chassis, where the wires attach / protrude... is there nothing there? It might not be the easiest thing to see if the chassis is sitting vertically as it appears to be, that tag is probably pointing straight down. So I can't really add anything useful, but I would like to identify the set as well so that I can add it to the Pye section of vintageradio.co.nz
