There is a Cash Radio Co "CRC" radio which just sold on Trade Me with an interesting label on the inside. Its the second time I've come across this label and had to refresh my memory - so I thought I'd throw it up here for 'future me' to more easily find again. Cash Radio Co was in Tuam St in Christchurch pre-WWII and built several brands, CRC was one (another was Chromadyne, a name with a checkered history). The label in question is for the cabinet, not the radio. The Payham brand was a contraction of Paynter and Hamilton, a Christchurch based architecture and construction firm. There is a prominent home in Christchurch which was originally the home of Albert Paynter. It still looks much the same today as it did in 1930... I believe I have seen the label on an Austin cabinet as well, but I can't find it at the moment. Austin was the main brand of Radio Warehouse Ltd - another Christchurch manufacturer. Cheers, Steve
