Hello, I've got a Ekco radio but the back cover is missing. I have no idea what the model is. If someone's got a circuit as well it would be a great help. Thanks Attachments:

Hi Forest, have you got more / better photos and/or details of the bands, valve lineup etc? The photo is very dark and its hard to make out anything other than it has three knobs on the front.
Cheers, Steve

Hello, Sorry about that. Its a rimlock 5 valve set, UY41, UCH42, UF41, UBC41, and unsure of the output tube. The case is timber front, bakelite sides and top. There is a stamping on the chassis, suspect serial number 001066 520 - 1620 Kc, 2.8 - 8.5 Mc, 9 - 27 Mc Unfortunately the dial has gone hazy and is hard to read... Thanks Shannon Attachments:

Hi Shannon, the output tube is possibly a UL41 with that lineup. This looks like one of Ekco's export sets - make in the UK for foreign sale - I'm basing that guess on the lack of long-wave and the multi-voltage mains TX. Its not one I recognise, internally or externally - but given the same lineup at the Ekcosprite there might be some useful info in that schematic: www.vintageradio.co.nz/model/ekco/rcx. In the Eckosprite I restored a few years back, I came across an odd fault where I could not fully turn the voltage down even by clamping the volume wiper to ground. I don't remember the exact problem, but it turned out the UBC41 had some kind of internal fault and was passing audio regardless of the grid - I don't know if this is a common problem with that valve - but thought it might be worth mentioning. It might be similar to the English model A160? www.radiomuseum.org/r/ekco_a160a_16.htmlThis model looks very similar (3 bands, same frequencies) but with E series valves: www.radiomuseum.org/r/ekco_trg238trg_23.htmlThe plastic grill was something Ekco seemed to use in the mid-50's - and ditto that lineup... so other Ekco models from that era might provide clues - I did have a look through models from Radiomuseum but didn't find anything that was exactly the same... a more detailed search might turn something up though. Cheers, Steve
