I recently discovered a dial laying on a bench at a Christchurch meeting, and it got me digging... Its not in either Golden Age book - but in fairness, it seems to have been a very short-lived brand with probably only a few models made, and probably in small numbers. The mounting around the dial almost looks like a 1937/38ish Radio Ltd style, and the colour of that metalwork looks Rolls / Luxor / Golden Knight coloured as well. I then uncovered this set - one advert only, in 1939 The Press, 3rd August 1939It's almost certain this dial is the same I only uncovered one other radio advertised - a portable... well, a luggable The Press, 25th November 1939So, the brand appears to have been short-lived, although Hamer Electrical still exists to this day. It was started by Harry Hamer (who formerly started Gough, Gough and Hamer) and Gordon Stuart in 1938. The Press, 9 July 1938Does anyone have one of these? I'd love to document one...
