Pacific model 18 cabinet work. I'm stuck at home as a 'close contact' at the moment so I'm cleaning the garage to try and stay out of the way and not catch anything (although my throat is starting to close up so that might not work out as well as I hoped)... Looks great! The Briwax does a really nice job. I might try it on my next cabinet refinish. Enjoyed the write-up too.

Thanks Daniel, I do like the finish Briwax gives - and its far easier to touch up that lacquer - although I wouldn't use it on a historically sensitive set. I've never tried stripping it off a cabinet (maybe I will at some point, just to see) but I imagine it would be difficult to get back to bare timber.
I did use Briwax to touch up a lacquered cabinet a while back (the Rolax restoration I think from memory) and that did a good job too. There is advice out there to rub it on with 0000 steel wool, but I've found that leaves a lot of steel in the finish... perhaps my steel wool was poor quality, but I don't do that any more - I just apply it with a cotton rag, and buff it off later with cheesecloth.
Cheers, Steve
