Repairing the dial stringing on my Ultimate CVU. I don’t have a diagram and it’s driving me crazy, but at least the power and comms are on and the weather is quiet. Things could be a lot worse.

Hi Lawrence, if you don't make any progress before feeling like a 4lb sledgehammer might be the solution, I think I have a strung CNU chassis in the spares stash somewhere - I imagine its similar... I'll see if I can find it and take some notes or photos for you.
Cheers, Steve

The dial of the CNU looks the same as the CVU, so that seems promising.

Lawrence, flick me an email at nzvintageradios (at) gmail.com and I'll send some photos (as best I was able to take them without major disassembly). Geez, it looks like a right pig to do, though. I don't envy you that job at all.

This exposes the stringing mechanism so access is now good. All I have to do is get the string layout right, and (fingers crossed) put it all back together! Cheers, Lawrence
