The seller thought it was about 1938, but I think your estimate is much nearer the mark.

Thank you Brian, I assume you are the lucky new owner? Can I ask, what is the serial number? If it is a 6A, then the only other one I know of has 6A at the start of the serial, which is an odd detail from a very narrow time period. I'm pretty sure I have service info for it too.
I'd be very keen to see the underside of the chassis and get details of component brands too.
Cheers, Steve

Hi Steve, I bought it with a Buy Now - it is a 6A with a good label. 6 valves not 7 as per your notes. I will take photo's this weekend for you. It is in excellent original condition even with an Amplion speaker.

Hi Bryan, thats great to hear - I'm glad someone in the group got it (and sad it wasn't me, lol) - I had a fear it might end up in someones bedroom painted some outlandish colour, stripped out, filled with blue LED strip and fitted with a bluetooth amp! The 7-valve info on the site under the 6A model was given to me before I knew anything about it so I just went with the wisdom on the drawing, but I am now very certain its wrong - I need to fix that. The confusion came from whoever put the picture of a 6A on the drawing. The 6A Superhet is definitely very different to the 7V TRF. I do have a 7-valve Courtenay TRF chassis (I suspect the last TRF design they ever made) that matches that service information. I don't have a cabinet for it, but I will create that model too and update the info. Brian Smith in Foxton gave me a rough sketch of the 6A circuit some time back which I'm redrawing in the early Courtenay style - I need to confirm some details on his drawing though - so I might ask you to trace some parts of the circuit in yours and confirm some values etc if thats ok? I'll look forward to some photos so I can add it to what we know. And if you ever want to find a new home for it, please let me know Cheers, Steve
