I have a few different pieces of RCNZ test gear, so I thought I'd share the details of some of them as I get to working on making them serviceable again... The first one is this signal generator, model SG2 that I intend to use in place of the horribly stable / small / accurate / modern thing I currently use As it came, a bit scruffy but it should tidy up ok.
Has anyone got a way of removing the clear lacquer from these without removing the paint as well?
Schematic, as provided by the NZVRS library along with a note that it appeared to be at least one error - the 6A8 plate and screen are not connected as shown.

The main body - mostly original except for the missing AF choke (Z56) which is used to generate the audio tone for modulation. It should be in the top left corner, but I can only assume it failed like so many of RCNZ's transformers before it... and its been removed I've been toying with using a power supply untapped choke of around 7H and various caps and arrangements to see if I can get the modulation going again - because without it I won't really have much use for this as a practical piece of test equipment... no luck yet. I'm trying to avoid using anything modern if I can.
And the underside of the chassis, all nicely shielded
...a peek under the cans...
