Anyone got a good solution for replacing and/or restoring a good connection to the aerial plate sheild on a plastic cased mantel radio? The radio I'm repairing crackles when the wire from the aerail coil is moved, due to high resistance from the foil breaking down. The aerial plate consists of an aluminium foil film inside the top of the case. I'm looking for a way to get a decent connection, or totally replacing the foil. The radio in question is DRECO La Gloria IMP. Thanks in advance. Bob

Bob there is an adhesive aluminum foil from Bunnings (alternatively the $3 Japan Store in the Civic building)that I am sure can be used as a replacement for the original foil - be it in several strips, that can be overlapped and capacitively coupled to the lead-in wire just by stripping a longish length and placing in between the sticky side and what your sticking it to eg top of cabinet.
