Hi everyone,
Just after WW2 a new radio publication appeared in N.Z. - a homegrown magazine of high quality though regretibly short life , called "Radio and Electronics". In the first issue of this mag Vol1 No1 an article written by Dr. Elizabeth Alexander appeared entitled "The Sun's Radio Energy".Does any one have ,in their collection, a copy of this particular issue ?I do not want to borrow it - I am asking only for a photo of the cover and a photo of the article.
I am writing an article about R.F. Joyce , a Kaiapoi radio serviceman , manufacturer and amateur astronomer and would like to have the photos among the illustrations for the article.
Should anyone have a "Joyrad "radio in their collection (I have one )a photo of that would be much appreciated too. Thanks everyone. Phone me 027 4082163

I believe I can help with both. There was a Joyrad radio in the big Nelson auction a couple of years back which I recall photographing because I'd never seen one before, and I have the first R & E on file. I'll try to sort them for you this morning before I leave for the AGM.
Cheers, Steve

I've emailed you photos and the cover plus article... now I must rush, a ferry to catch and apparently deteriorating seas, so it should be a fun trip Cheers, Steve

Hi Steve,Many many thanks for those photos.Absolutely just what I need. That Joyrad from the Nelson auction differs from mine in having a branding "Joyrad" transfer over the (Inductances Ltd) dial glass. Mine has no Joyrad branding apart from the red transfer on the chassis. Mine also has green (!) i.f. transformers but otherwise pretty much the same. Take care on your trip north.
