Does anyone have schematic for the “Antone” 5 valve portable (the one prior to Bell taking over the business) Valve line up is DF91, DK91, DF91, DAF 91 and DL92. These had a plug in (via an 8 pin octal plug) AC supply where the batteries would normally go. The set is similar (schematic wise) to the Bell 1, but totally different cabinet and chassis layout. The Bell 1 uses a DK40 valve as the converter. I believe the set has a series heater chain (9V) and a 67.5V HT. Thanks. Roy

Hi Roy, One of our ChCh VRS members has drawn this circuit out for his own set and has also devised a new power supply.I'll phone him tomorrow and advise him of your request. I have an Antone too and can tell you it is well worth getting going .

I have restored one of these wee sets & it goes well. Mine is the green MkII version. The heater chain is seris connected for the mains power pack and series/parallel for the battery pack. Here is the circuit of the set and the original power supply. I have rebuilt the power supply with a modified, & probably over-the-top circuit, just because I could! Les McDonald contacted me a while back with these... I have been meaning to get them uploaded but haven't done it yet. He restored both and drew them out at the time.

That's a really interesting circuit difference as my set has 2 IF amps & no RF amp. I'll email you all my info Steve.

Hi John, yours is a MK1 though isn't it? Les's Mk1 circuit shows no RF and two IF amps, and looks very similar to the one you attached above... The MK2 is quite different - and the case is different too.
I really need to try and find one at some point, just to play with.

That sounds right. Looking at Les' photos I see that the case is quite different & it makes sense that the circuit changed between models.

Hi All Thanks all of you for the info for these sets. The schematics were all very helpful. My set appears to be the MK II version. I have now got my set up and running very well, needed to replace all the wax caps, once done it really came alive. Thanks again Roy.
