i have a chassis of a Mullard type 50. It uses Philips side-contact valves. From the ARTS&P label it appears to date from about 1940 or 41, but it’s hard to find any other info on it. Does anyone know anything about it? Thanks! Lawrence

You have an unusual one there! Our equivalent list shows the Mullard 50 as a Philips 541. No circuit in our files but there is a factory note about valve substitution in models 541 and 661 due to shortages for defence needs. We also have an IF frequency list prior to 1947 which has this model as 1939 and 472.5 KHz IF. There are Philips circuits ex an estate in storage yet to be checked so it may turn up. I came across your request tonight by chance. Requests are best directed direct to the library. library@nzvrs.pl.net

Ah, but I don't believe Lawrence is a paid up NZVRS member - hence limited access to our services.

Thanks for the info, Bruce. Sorry about the slow reply: unlike Facebook, this forum doesn't alert you to replies waiting.
dada, as far as I know, I am fully paid up! You can check with David Crozier if you like. Cheers.
