In these delightful days of Covid, I wondered what overseas places are still supplying NZ.
I have heard the US is no longer sending mail to us Kiwis so I guess that knocks their stores and US Ebay out of contention.
As far as I know ali baba (China), Aussie and the UK are still sending us mail/ A book arrived here from the UK a day or so ago posted a fortnight ago.
So I wondered where are people getting parts and other items from that are still arriving from overseas??

You can still use YouShop to get goods out of the US - which is not too bad if the seller is offering free postage within the US... And they have a sea-freight option as well so you can get 'dangerous' battery-powered things shipped as well. For components I use a mix of AliExpress, RS and Element 14. I used to use RS all the time because they had free freight - this is no longer the case so I save up my orders now and shop around. I also did put one final order for Philco 37- and 38- chassis rubbers (particularly the three that mount the RF sub-chassis) from Renovated Radios before he closes down - I have not seen that order yet and hope its not lost in transit. I think everyone is still supplying - it's just the USPS that has gone to shirt. I watched an episode of Lehtos Law (The US has some really interesting and disturbing laws!) on YouTube the other day where he was talking about how the USPS was turning to garbage even inside the US... although this is probably a global thing - less letters being sent everytwhere means restructuring for traditional postal services... I guess NZ Post has done ok by bringing in courier services to fill the gap. I look forward to when we can email parcels as well as letters (Already happening to a degree, with 3D printing) Cheers, Steve

I am still ordering things from the US and they're still arriving - despite USPS stating they have suspended service to here. UPS, Fedex and DHL are still delivering. Mostly I order from RS (capacitors etc). Everything else I have good stocks of, so hopefully won't run out any time soon.

I'm still waiting for rotary switches from Ali Express which I ordered in September with a delivery date of early November. I ticked the "where's my parcel" button but still nothing to date. I did buy from US EBay & I got the item within the specified timeframe. They use the Global Shipping Programme - I guess USPS isn't part of this? John:)

I've just had the reverse of your experience John - much to my shock, horror and absolute surprise my order from ali express (Store was jemosa) turned up in 3 weeks (ordeed late October and it came a week ago today). Yours is probably stuck on some ship or other.
In the meantime tell or pM me with what rotary switches you need - may have something in my stock I can spare but warning they will probably be used.
