With a very heavy heart we announce Gerry’s passing. Not a lot of details at this point but we will update when we do know more. Gerry, you were an absolutely superb mate and you will be sorely missed. Im going to miss the long chats sitting at the workbench. Rest in peace my friend. Kempy. Funeral Details: Gerry's funeral will be at Davis Funerals, 400 Dominion Road, Auckland on Tuesday 15th Feb, 1:30pm Numbers are strictly limited to 50 people and proof of vaccination is required for any that wish to attend. The NZVRS has been allocated 30 seats at Gerry's Funeral, so please don't be put off by the information on Davis Funerals website advising it is a private funeral. There is also a live stream which David Crozier has emailed out which gives the ability to watch the funeral live for those out of town or unable to attend. The invitation to watch the live stream is here admin.oneroomstreaming.com/email/view/b633e04491

RIP Gerry. In tears when I heard the news - a true friend. So glad that I was communicating with Gerry and at his house on Sunday, those memories will be etched in my mind for ever. I will treasure the Avocado tree.

That is extremely sad to hear. I learned a lot from Gerry, he was always very generous with his time and happy to help with my radio repair questions. I too have many fond memories of chats on the phone or at his workbench. I will miss him.

This is very sad news, I didn't know him well, but what an amazing knowledgeable and skillful man and he still had a very sharp mind for his age.

I only knew him for a few years but count him as a good friend - I was really looking forward to seeing him on my annual pilgrimage to Auckland for the AGM again this year and was just talking to him about this a few days ago.
Now I seem to have some dust in my eye while writing this. Stupid dust.
I will miss his stories, his knowledge, and the look on his face when I told him red Bell Colts were boring and not collectible at all. Oh, and not least of all his baking.
RIP my friend.
