This Antone Cadet is almost done now. The circuit is much the same as the one given on Steve’s excellent website, but the valves are all different. The lineup in Chesterman’s undated circuit was ECH41/42, EAF42, EBL21, and EZ41. This one came with 6A8, 6AR7GT, unknown PA, and 6X5. The 6AR7 was broken and has been replaced by an EBF32. The PA tube is shown here. It has a miniature eight-pin base. On the UK vintage radio site it was suggested that this could be EL41 or 42, but the shape of the envelope doesn’t look right. Note that the top of the tube has a smaller diameter to the rest. Can anyone suggest what this might be? Thanks, Lawrence

Is it a Rimlock base? If so, it does look like an EL41. The EL42 is much shorter.

That is an EL41. I have seen some EL41's that have a 'stepped' envelope as this one has. I think they're early versions of the Philips, Mullard, or Telefunken valve.
