And now for story time...
It was Tisco that burned through every spare board and part in the country for my top-end Mitsubishi TV (after a google, it was similar to a CS-32307 but far more feature-packed) back in the day. It was a 32" flat-tube wide screen on a remote-controllable rotating base with picture in picture (dual tuners) and a bunch of other very cool (for the day) features including built-in surround sound (it came with the speakers and stands and everything). Very expensive at the time and barely lasted 18 months before packing up.
BDT (Mitsi NZ) refused to look at it because it was out of warranty despite me pleading my case over several months - from memory I paid about $5500 for it (young, dumb and loved toys - all that's changed is that I'm older now ). They only finally agreed to fix it after a friend who was a commercial appliance buyer for one of the larger retailers stepped in on my behalf, pointing out that the expected life of a high-end product should be considerably more than 18 months, and what did this say for his commercial customers who might buy the same thing.
Off to Tisco's it went, where they ended up blowing up every spare BDT had trying to fix it - I still to this day have no idea what the problem was, but they did mention some black glue used to hold the components down causing the main problems and how Mitsi NZ were getting very annoyed about the repair. That black 'glue' is well known for causing issues these days, but I believe it was a fairly new problem back then. I bought it in 1997/98 from memory, so this must have been around 2000.
In the end, they gave up and scrapped it and gave me a brand new 32" Thompson as a replacement on the grounds that the new TV was a gift not a replacement, and was warrantyless. I recall the guy on the phone explaining this seemed very pissed off, which also got me a little annoyed. I don't think they wanted anything more to do with me or the TV. Anyway, the Thompson, which I accepted, was an absolute pile of S%$# by comparison with almost no mod-cons - and it only lasted about 12 months before crapping out and being fed to landfill. It was replaced with a 32" Panasonic flat screen (a very early one) which I still have to this day - and it still works, although one of the HDMI ports is a big dodgy - dry joint I suspect.
The last Mitsubishi product I ever owned (or will ever own after their less than stellar customer service), and my last interaction with Tisco (who couldn't fix it, and didn't seem to know how beyond swapping boards - this would have been near their end I think).
