As I recall, one of Gerry's was the real deal
He did have someone cut the glass for him to make one because he never thought he would find a real one. He told me once which was which but I don't remember the difference - the chamfering perhaps?
I do remember him saying that he finally gave up on ever finding one, and so made his, and shortly after, as things have a habit of doing - a real one appeared.

That's cheap for a red Colt - I think the last one I saw at auction went for around $1500. Crazy money, but people seem to like 'em.
